Location
An historic seaside village located on a peninsula of the upper
East Coast of New Zealand's North Island, amidst the Bay of
Islands, Russell has provided a haven for visitors over the last
300 hundred years. Its Island-like charm reflects the tranquillity
of yester-year and yet has successfully transitioned into the 21st
Century with dignity and style. This cosmopolitan community enjoys
the natural wonders of the beach, sea and lush bush surroundings
whilst revelling in the sophistication of fine dining and cafés
available to visitors from around New Zealand and all over the
world.
Voted by New Zealand's AA, the Bay of Islands (including Russell)
has been nominated as a Kiwi Must-Do experience. So calling all
Kiwis and overseas visitors alike - when you come to experience the
magic of the Bay of Islands, hop across the bay and stay in the
fabulous town of Russell. You won't be disappointed.
Our family and friends recently stayed at Hananui Lodge for our wedding which took place in Russell. Hananui Lodge is
a home away from home, it is situated directly on the waterfront with spectacular views. The varying styles of apartments are all spacious and extremely clean and well maintained.
The hosts John and Rongo are exceptional, they are some of the
warmest most genuine people you will ever meet making you feel welcome and at home on arrival and able to accommodate any request. Rating 1-5 : 5 stars
